Snow Much Fun

It's not really a snow day unless there are snow selfies all over Instagram or everyone tweeting "Do you want to build a snowman?" For me, it's not really a snow day unless I get to take pictures in it. Of course who do I ask? Ding, ding, ding. You got it - Lauren. She is so great in front of the camera. When I become a famous fashion photographer, I'll have her to thank because half of my portfolio is of her right now. ;)

I had such great feedback from the pictures I posted on Sunday so I decided that I would share with y'all the pictures that I took today! I really just wanted to do a photo shoot in the snow because I have never done one in the snow before. I actually really liked how the pictures turned out so I might add them to my portfolio as well.
We pretended we were in New York City at Central Park. We'll be there one day.

I know Lauren has been featured in the last couple of posts, but I know y'all love her just as much as I do! Huge thank you to her for letting me use her as my model yet again!
Maybe I'll be able to use my camera more this year (it is a new year's resolution anyways) and get to share more of my "artwork!" :)

Sweater Tights

It's snowing outside. And it's sticking. Let's just take a minute and say thanks.

Yesterday I went shopping (of course) and I picked up the cutest pairs of booties ever. Not only that but I found sweater tights. Yes, sweater tights. They are exactly what they say they are. A sweater for your legs. Surprisingly they kept me warmer than I expected.

Honestly, I only wanted to do a blog post today because my hair is curly and I rarely curl it.

Okay, I'm secretly crying inside because I forgot to button the second button on this peacoat, which I absolutely adore. It is so cute when both the buttons are buttoned because it is a fit and flare peacoat. And yes, I know I'm wearing gray on gray. Life will go on :)

I have discovered that I need to go get some more of these awesome tights. I got mine at work so I have no idea where I can find some more! I do hope everyone enjoys this snow and their day off! Drive safely if you have to get on the roads! However, y'all should probably just stay home and enjoy some Netflix with hot cocoa! Have a great day, y'all :)

Here is a list of where everything is from:
Peacoat: My mom's closet - originally from New York and Company

Cardigan: Forever 21 $4.99

Sunday Funday

Happy Sunday Funday, y'all! I hope each and everyone of you has had an amazing day and week! Enjoy what little we have left of the weekend! So, if you guys have not heard my great news - I am applying to Parsons The New School of Design (a.k.a. "fashion school")! I am applying to the one located in New York City, although I am secretly wishing I was applying to the Paris campus.

Unfortunately, I decided to apply with a time crunch due to the fact that the application and portfolio is due by February 1st. All last week, I have been digging through all of the pictures I have ever taken and decided there was no way I was submitting any of those for my portfolio. Lucky for me, I have friends who are a natural in front of the camera and were willing to model for me.

Pretty much all I'm saying here is:
1. I'm applying to fashion school.
2. I may or may not end up going to New York City for college.
3. I make spontaneous decisions.
4. Sunday was a fun day because I did two photo shoots.
5. I have amazing friends.
6. I wanted to share some pictures with y'all.

First shoot was a Audrey Hepburn inspired photo shoot.

Then Lauren changed into a more Blair Waldorf inspired look.

Second shoot was a "bad boy" inspired shoot.

Because two is better than one.

DISCLAIMER: No cigarettes were smoke nor beer drank in the making of this photograph.

Of course that was not all of the pictures that I took today but editing can definitely wear you out! I am so thankful for friends like Lauren and Michael! They were so easy to work with and I love them both! Watch out for them in magazines soon ;) They are both so talented! I mean who can go from Audrey Hepburn to Sandy Olssson-esk? You wouldn't have known that Michael and Lauren have never met until tonight from these pictures!

Okay, I'm done bragging about my friends! Please do let me know how you like these pictures though! I love getting feedback on my pictures! Have a great night, y'all!

Pearls and Twirls / Double OOTD

Today was a great day filled with great things! I don't even know where to begin to describe my day! Well, let's just squeal at the fact that I got to meet and talk with Katie Lee from Pearls and Twirls. If you have never read her blog, you must pause and go look at it this instant. She is such a sweet person and I am so glad I got to meet her!
(P.S. I met her at the Stella & Dot trunk show. If you want amazing jewelry, go support Sarah (my mentor) with her adoption and order some Stella & Dot jewelry here!)

Lauren, my other half, also came to the trunk show and I had to post her outfit because she is fabulous! So, lucky for y'all, you get two outfit of the days!

My outfit (still learning how to pose y'all):

My outfit wasn't really anything off the walls today, but I loved the drape of the shirt. It gives the feel of it being more fancy than it really is, especially when it's paired with a pearl necklace. You, also, can never go wrong with a houndstooth skirt. Houndstooth is a classic print and that's why I love it so much. My shoes weren't worth showing but I felt like I couldn't neglect showing it.

Now on to Lauren's outfit:

Ah, her shoes are too die for! I love how her outfit is composed of mixing and matching different prints yet it all goes together! She's going to make her mark in the fashion industry one day, y'all just watch. ;)

This post was extra long but two outfit of the days in one post? Hey, that's gotta be worth the reading! I hope y'all had a great day and continue to have a great night!

Here is a list of where everything is from:
Top: Gap $4.99 (I got it when it was additional 50% off sale items)
Skirt: Ross Dress For Less $8.99
Necklace: My Mom's Closet
Shoes: Plato's Closet $6.00

Samford University Visit

On this fine yet windy Tuesday, my parents and I traveled down to the good ole city of Birmingham, Alabama. This will be, indeed, my last college visit before I make my decision of where I am going, which is actually very depressing for me because I love college visits. I looked up the weather the night before and it said "partly cloudy with strong winds," and when they said strong winds, they meant strong winds! It took us a lot of time to get a couple good pictures without my hair flying in my face/mouth!

No one visits Samford and leaves without taking a picture with Mr. Ralph W. Beeson.

Everyone has always said great things about Samford's campus, and after today, I can finally nod my head and say, "I agree." Samford's campus is beautiful even in the middle of winter. Samford's staff is also absolutely amazing. They were all very welcoming and made my trip very enjoyable. Maybe, this will be my home for the next four years of my life.

Blue Pants

You know it's a productive day when you get up at 6:00 in the morning, get ready, go to school, come home and lay down, go workout, eat lunch, take a shower, and get ready all over again just to find out that it's only 1:30.

Since I had a 7:30 college class this morning, I ended up resorting to leggings, riding boots, a thermal with a button up over it. You know, the basic lazy day outfit. When I got ready the second time, I stil wanted to be casual but look chic. I have a whole collection of t-shirts in my wardrobe but I am not a t-shirt girl. However, I wanted to wear my statement blue pants therefore a t-shirt would make the perfect outfit.

Disclaimer: I''m sorry for the lack of quality in these pictures. I wasn't planning on doing a blog post and I took the pictures on my iPhone.

I layered a blazer over my t-shirt to give it a more work appropriate look since I was spending the rest of the afternoon in the studio.

Then to accessorize, I wore a black and gold statement necklace to tie the t-shirt and blazer together. Of course, I went with my usual arm candy of my Fossil watch and gold bracelets.

I bought these pants thinking I would only wear it once or twice, but I have been trying to get out of my comfort zone. I love this outfit because although I'm wearing a t-shirt, there is a balance in the outfit making it still chic.

Here is a list of where everything is from:
Shirt: Parachute concert
Blazer: Goodwill $2.00
Pants: Old Navy Outlet $2.88
Shoes: Charlotte Russe $9.99
Necklace: eBay $1.59
Cross Bracelet: Jewelry Show $5.00
Gold Bangle: Goodwill $1.99

Waldorf Wednesday

For some odd reason, I came up with this brilliant (well, brilliant to me) idea the other day. I was trying to plan out my outfits for the week, which never works because I change it the morning of, and when it came for Wednesday, I thought to myself "Waldorf Wednesday!" And that is how I came to set this new trend ;)

I Google-ed (Is that a verb now? It should be.) and Pinterest-ed (That as well should be a verb.) "Blair Waldorf" and tried to pick an outfit that I could recreate using what I already had in my wardrobe.

I came across this picture and immediately knew I wanted to recreate it. I have red tights sitting my closet that I wore maybe twice so why not break them out again?

Here is my spin on the navy dress with red leggings:

Cardigan: Forever 21 $5.99
Dress: Rue 21$6.00
Tights: Target $5.00
Necklace: Plato's Closet $4.00
Shoes: Ross Dress For Less $9.99

Maybe Waldorf Wednesday will make another appearance soon! It's always fun to wear something outside of the box. It also gets people staring ;)
